Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream together butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. One at a time, beat in egg, then water, then vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking soda, then add to wet mixture. Stir in oats and chocolate chips (or whatever you got). Spoon onto greased cookie sheets and bake 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.
