Believe it or not, it is time to plant our strawberries for next year’s crop. The plants are in a very large freezer building in Turlock, and we hope to pick them up this Friday. On Saturday Jose and the crew will have time to remove the plastic mulch from the old berry patch and lay it on the new beds. Roberto mowed the old patch as close as he could to the plastic about a month ago. It should be easy to lift the mulch away after taking out the large staples that we use to hold it down. Then, we will lay the drip line on top of the plastic. Strawberry planting will take place on Sunday.
