The garlic seed arrived on Thursday just before it started raining. Roberto had prepared the beds and was busy sowing seeds so we could not plant the garlic. On Monday afternoon the crew went out into the field and happily it had dried out just enough so that we could plant. The seed size this year is larger than we normally get so the seed would not flow down the planting tubes. Instead we had to draw a furrow in front of the planting sled. Roberto pushed the soil over the seed with his boot while the guys planted. He rolled the beds to make the firm and level for cultivating later. We will keep the weeds at bay with our finger weeder.
