The warm weather we have been having is great for these crops. They often have flowers on them early but sometimes too early for the bees to be about to do their job of pollination. The peas are all Sugar Snaps, we find these do best here on the farm. The fava beans are a variety called Windsor. Both of these crops are inoculated with root bacteria when we plant them. These fix nitrogen from the air for the plants and for the crops that follow. we will start picking these crops in a couple of weeks.
