We start preparing for fall and winter crops in the greenhousein June. We sow the seeds of the first plantings of cabbages, broccoli and cauliflower. These continue through to the middle of August when the first sowings get transplanted into the field. In August when the weather cools down we try to sow seeds in the field. This year it did not cool down until the first week of September. From then on every week we sow more seeds in the field until we are stopped by rain.
Roberto and Arturo are seen here cultivating with our finger weeder which removes small seedling weeds in the rows of these crops. We use this German built machine every week until the crop is too big for it to pass.
