Roberto finally got out into the field today with our cultivator. He was preparing beds for potatoes. He and Ramon will work all weekend. They have seeds to sow including peas, bean arugula, lettuce, spinach, beet and other greens. On Monday morning if it is not raining they will be able to plant some potatoes. We will only plant a part of the crop as there is a danger that heavy rain and cold could rot the seed in the ground. The rain could be light and the temperatures not as cold as we expect, the result could be a nice early crop of spuds. It is a gamble that has paid off in the past and punished me other years. I have always said I do not need to go to Reno I can get my gambling rush here on the farm!
