Kikki has been working hard to finish cleaning all the wheat from this years harvest. We own the seed cleaner with Tierra Vegetables in Santa Rosa. They will need it soon to clean all the dry beans that they grow. The cleaner is mounted on a trailer which allows us to transport it between our farms easily. the boxes of wheat are stored until Ricardo need them to mill each Friday.
If you have never tried freshly milled flour it is worth the try as most flour sold in stores is older than four weeks. After this time the oils in the bran go rancid. I always advise that you first make some simple pancakes with he flour to see how good fresh flour tastes.
We will be planting next years crop at the end of this month. We do not have enough room to plant all that we need. We are hoping to persuade a local farmer to help us.
