It has been our dream for sometime to build a brick oven in the member garden. Just imagine fantastic fresh pizzas emerging after a hard days saucing tomatoes. We could use it for pretty much all our events here on the farm. We were chatting with Edwin from Della Fattoria at the market and he invited us up to his celebration dinner for the almost completion of his two new commercial brick ovens.
These ovens are huge and will be ready for action in another month. The were constructed over the last month by four guys from Vermont. They travel the country building these ovens for commercial bakeries. the ovens were impressive but the food and hospitality was amazing. a big thank you to the Weber Family for such a great day.
If you fancy yourself as an oven builder and would like to help us please let me know and I will keep you informed as to the progress. We will work on the design over the winter with the aim to start building in the spring so long as we have the funds.
