Our potato seed delivery was delayed a week in Colorado due to snow. Unfortunately, the delay caused us to miss an opportunity to plant before it rains here on the farm. The potato seed is certified clean and, except for one variety, is organically grown. It rained here on Monday so we have to see how the field dries out by Thursday, once we have finished picking and packing your boxes. In the middle of February, a couple of nice, warm days with a little breeze can make all the difference.
The potato seed is certified clean by the State of Colorado. Currently, we are waiting for our agricultural inspector to come and release it for us to be able to plant. The inspector must make sure that the potato seed is not carrying any disease into California.
