IMG_2393.JPG The rain just over a week ago meant that there was very little we could do on the farm. There is only so much coffee you can drink so we decided to stake the heirloom tomatoes. The early crop is planted through a reusable woven plastic mulch. One of the joys of this material is that we can walk on it much sooner than we could on bare soil. Normally this crop is staked in early May so it was nice to get the job done much sooner. The plastic mulch should last us ten years and is mainly used to keep the weeds at bay but we are finding it has a multitude of benefits.
