All of our chicken house are fitted with these nipple drinkers inside and outside to provide a constant source of fresh, clean water. Each house has a 275 gallon tank which ensures there is plenty of water for every chicken on even the hottest days. A large tank also ensures that the water never gets too hot in the summer.
These chicks are six weeks old and with the aid of a special step they can now reach the nipples. As they touch the nipple it releases water for them to drink.
Each house contains 500 to 600 chicks and is 500 square feet inside. Up until 3 months old the chicks stay inside to protect them from hawks which will pick up small chicks. Once they are big enough the door is open 24/7. It is only closed the night before we move the chickens to another pasture.
