Jose has been planting with the crew every chance that they have. It seems as soon as they plant one batch another truck load arrives. I did plan it that way!
We plant several times to harvest consecutively through the fall and winter. Next week the final leeks will arrive with more broccoli, romanesco and other wonderful winter veggies. Ricardo has to keep up with the planting crew making sure that the plants get watered as soon as possible. The days are hot here on the farm with temperatures in the 90’s. Ricardo’s choice of transportation is this stylish bike left to the farm by a friend. He needs to keep moving as he has a lot of ground to cover taking care of all the irrigation on the farm.
The trays that these plants are grown in go back to the nursery to be used again.
